Dear Patron,
🙏 Welcome To The Library Newsletter
This is the first of our newsletter to keep you updated on your library’s activities such as incoming books, book recommendations, library programs and any amendments and notices in our day to day operations and policies.
For this first one we thought we should just get to know each other.
It may feel like we have all your information (hey, we sort of know the general area where you live okay) but you know next to nothing about us.
👭 Who Are We?
There are three of us looking after Sanu Ko Pustakalaya and making sure everything runs smoothly (we hope). We are a pretty introverted bunch so you might have only seen us now and then and heard very little from us (we do like to uphold silence at the library).
You must all be familiar with Tara, she is usually at the office desk when you come into the library. She manages the day to day operations at the library and pretty much does everything that needs doing. When she joined us she was not much of a reader, she told us she hardly read anything beyond her textbooks. Now you will find her with her nose buried in a book at all times. She has read over 40 books in 2022! Well, we at least have one verified convert.
Next is Jayanti - Sanu’s mother. She is going through a tough time. But she shows up everyday. She tries to read at least a few pages everyday. Sometimes she also pretends she is reading and takes her afternoon nap in the kitchen. The library means a great deal to her, and it gives her great joy to come in and see you sit and read at her daughter’s library.
Last and the very least - there is the person writing this newsletter. I am Priyansha - Sanu’s sister. The only thing of note I have done is make those FICTION and NON FICTION labels that stand on top of the shelves (sometimes seen lying flat).
🤍 Thank You
We thank you all - for coming and sharing your time and patronage with us. We are just coming out of a very dark time in our lives and we feel the only way we can move forward is by sharing the light. We hope in the coming days we can make your reading lives somewhat better by sharing our limited but life changing experience with reading. Our only wish is that you visit us often, read the books we have shared and consider the library a space of solace and comfort.
See you,
Priyansha
This letter felt so heartwarming and very personal. For me this library has been peace in the midst of agonizing chaos, I really hope we all make beautiful memories in this place built in memory :)
